Meet Jan van Ruiswyk the farmer behind your purchase. 

Located in central King Island Jan Van Ruiswyk has been farming the land for over forty years. Passionate about sustainability and always adopting new practices Jan was an early adopter and believer in shelter belts.  Another initiative the farm took on was fencing creeks off as platypus live in the water ways and generating their own power.

“I came here in 1970 with my parents when my dad bought a dairy farm. I stuck around because I liked farming and wanted to buy a property where we live – and it’s just grown from there.

I was given a chance by some neighbours and they approached me to see if I was interested in buying their property. I totally respect them for giving me and my family a chance. The community here is full of salt of the earth people – that’s why I love the island.” Jan Van Ruiswyk
